Masahati Students Clubs

Students’ Clubs (Masahati) are alternative learning spaces within the school. The clubs offer valuable learning opportunities in different alternative pathways and help students explore their physical, creative, and social potential. Each club is designed according to the students’ aspirations and includes a set of activities in different fields. Social and emotional learning is embedded throughout our interventions which promotes social cohesion among students from different nationalities and backgrounds. Madrasati empowers schools to engage communities and lead education reform. Teachers, volunteers and parents work together to implement improved learning initiatives and share their experiences. Towards the end of each club cycle, the student participants celebrate their journey and achievements in school events and summer camps.

Pre-and-post studies by Madrasati have shown the clubs to impact students’ interpersonal acceptance, reinforce positive prosocial behaviours and reduce violence among students.
Students’ clubs influence students’ sense of empowerment and initiative to contribute to society and enhance their school appeal and belonging.

“I would like my students to remember me as the teacher who made a difference in their lives through an activity, or a piece of information that they still remember and use in their lives.”
“The main thing I learned from the workshop was cooperative work and the exchange of ideas with experienced teachers from different schools. I have gained a valuable experience from them.”
