Madrasati means ‘my school’ in Arabic. The Madrasati initiative was launched by Her Majesty Queen Rania Al Abdullah,  to improve the physical and educational environment of Jordan’s most neglected public schools. 

Madrasati has served 830 Jordanian public schools run by the Ministry of Education (MoE) and identified as the most underperforming and most in need of renovation and assistance in educational development. Madrasati has reached 360,000 students, 17,500 teachers, and 800 volunteers across the 12 governorates of Jordan.

Madrasati creates safe and dynamic learning environments that significantly contribute towards improving the quality of education. Social and emotional learning is embedded throughout our interventions, which promote social cohesion among students from different nationalities and backgrounds, as well as reinforce positive pro-social behaviors, reduce violence among students, making a positive impact on students’ interpersonal acceptance. All Madrasati schools have undergone comprehensive maintenance and renovation to make them safer and more conducive learning environments.

Student academic performance has improved by 5-8% in 130 Madrasati schools surveyed. The Ministry of Education has also reported a 10% decrease in truancy at the schools.
