Job Summary

The Financial and Administrative Supervisor will support the implementation of financial and administrative functions, with a focus on budgeting, financial monitoring, compliance, and operational coordination, ensuring efficiency and alignment with organizational and donor requirements. S/He is expected to contribute to providing continuous support to the Heads of Units and Project staff.

 

Key Roles and Responsibilities:

 Financial Responsibilities

• Support the preparation and consolidation of project and operational budgets.

• Contribute to proposal budgets and budget revisions in line with donor requirements.

• Monitor budget utilization and analyze variances.

• Review internal financial reports (e.g., BVA, cash balances) to ensure accuracy and timeliness.

• Support preparation and review of donor financial reports in compliance with contractual requirements.

• Ensure proper cost allocation across projects and maintain financial documentation.

• Monitor expenditures and support payment processing in line with financial procedures.

• Support cash flow tracking and financial planning needs.

 

Operational Responsibilities

• Support procurement and financial documentation processes (purchase orders, payment requests, etc.).

• Assist in day-to-day administrative and office operations, including logistics and service coordination.

• Ensure compliance with internal policies, donor regulations, and financial procedures.

• Coordinate with Jordan River Foundation on financial and administrative processes.

• Support audit processes and ensure readiness of required documentation.

• Facilitate smooth operational workflows and identify efficiency improvements.

 

 Other Responsibilities

• Provide guidance and oversight to finance and administrative assistants where applicable.

• Support capacity building of staff and ensure quality of outputs.

• Maintain effective communication with internal teams and external stakeholders on financial matters.

• Ensure accurate documentation, reporting, and record-keeping.

• Adhere to organizational policies, code of conduct, and safeguarding requirements.

• Perform other tasks as assigned within the scope of the role.

 

Job Essential Requirements and Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance; a graduate degree or professional certification (CPA, CA) is an asset.

• Minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in finance and accounting, preferably within donor-funded projects, with strong familiarity with donor compliance requirements.

• Solid knowledge of financial reporting, budgeting processes, financial systems, and relevant Jordanian government regulations.

• Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail, coupled with advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial management tools.

• Excellent organizational, time management, and multi-tasking skills, with the ability to work under pressure and manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills in both Arabic and English, with the ability to work effectively both independently and within a team.

• Demonstrates high levels of accountability, integrity, professionalism, and flexibility, with a proactive approach to supporting organizational needs.
